This Week's Wrap-up

Happy Saturday!

It's really snowing here right now.  I like snow, just don't like having to drive in it.  Thankfully, I've nowhere to go today so this will be swatching day for me.

I just wanted to wrap up all the nail looks that happened this past week.  I don't change my polish everyday but I will add to it over the week to keep from becoming too bored.  I might add some glitter or do a holographic top coat or even paint over with a sheer polish that will change the color.  Usually by Thursday night, though, I'm bored enough to either take it all off and go bared nailed for a few days or I'll do a new mani just for Friday, which is what I did this week.

So, starting with the original mani for the week done on Sunday - Milani Ruby Jewels.

I really liked this color.  It just seems lit from within.  Very distracting.  But then I made the mistake Monday night of trying to do some stamping over it and let's just say I need way more practice in that area.  With the top coat on, it should have been a small matter of gently wiping off the stamping and reapplying top coat.

Unfortunately, when I tried to clean off the right thumb, the base polish started coming off as well.  Since I had already received my Literary Lacquers by then, I decided to start over so that I could use one of them as an accent nail.

The red is still Milani Ruby Jewels but the green is Literary Lacquers A Thousand Christmas Trees.  It was the limited edition gift with purchase.  I spent enough to get the mini but now I'm wishing I'd spent enough to get the full size bottle.  Don't know if she's got plans to sell it later or not but I would order a full size of this one.  It's so beautiful.  I'll have a full swatch and description of it in a later post.

So I wore that for a day then Tuesday night, I decided to really bling it up and this is what I ended up with.

Not the best picture in the world but at least it captures the bling.  I put on a gold glitter from Cherimoya called Gold Glitz then covered it all with China Glaze Fairy Dust.  Distraction factor jacked up to maximum with this one. Wore this until Thursday night when the chips really started to show.  Being a perfectionist, I can't live with badly chipped polish.  A little tip wear is fine but chips?  Nope, no tolerance.

Took all that off and did this.

Oh, my.  I think this one was my favorite of the week, actually, and what I had planned until I decided to do the red instead.

This is Sinful Colors My Kryptonite with Orly Sparkling Garbage on top.  Only wore it for a day since I always take the week's polish off on Friday night.  I will be doing this one again when I can wear it for longer.  The two just seemed made for each other.

So that's the wrap up for the week.  I'm off to do some major swatching.  Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
