Darling Diva Ringer

Happy Friday!

I hadn't planned to do a post today but I have been wearing Darling Diva's Ringer for the past couple of days and just had to share the awesomeness that is this polish.  It's called Ringer for a reason. This one is your full on dupe of Max Factor's Fantasy Fire.

Take a look.

Ringer is very sheer so I put her over two coats of Sally Hansen Cafe Au Lait, which is a neutral beige.  I thought a neutral color wouldn't conflict with the real star of this mani.  Pictures were taken today so there is some tip wear visible but no chips.  I also used base and top coat.

Lots of picture to follow.  I tried my best to capture as many of the color shifts as possible, especially the green.  Even though the sun did shine pretty much all day, I wasn't able to get any pics.  But I was able to see this beauty in all her glory in full sunlight and the green shift is extraordinary.  I would describe it best as emerald green.

So here we go...all pics but this first one were taken without flash under my daylight lamp.  Flash actually washed out the multi-chrome goodness - as you can see here.

office lighting, with flash

Pretty but under the daylight lamp is where Ringer really shined for me.

Wow, fingers look like toes here. Yikes!

That last photo comes the closest to that emerald green shift I saw in full sun.  And I do believe I caught a flash of blue driving home in the car.  Of course, taking photos and driving isn't a good idea so I refrained - barely.

Ok, one more...

And for good measure, the bottle shot of both polishes currently on my nails.

Needless to say, I'll be trying Ringer over pretty much every color I own.  Since the bottle is definitely much bigger, I should be able to play to my heart's content.

I also own Boop-Oop-A-Dupe by Nail Pattern Boldness, which is also a good substitute for Max Factor Fantasy Fire or Clarins 230.

The inevitable comparison post will be forthcoming.  While they do have similar properties, I do believe there is plenty of room in any stash for both.

And on a different subject, I am one of the winners of the Keepin' It Festive Holiday 2013 giveaway hosted by Ariel of Lacquer: The Best Medicine.  I won the entry from Ellagee - a full size polish of my choice and one of Laura's cute keychains made from a mini size polish bottle and the polish of my choice.  My thanks to Laura for the prize and to Ariel for hosting the giveaway.  I'll post what I chose when they arrive.  I can hardly wait!

Wow.  A lot of content for an unplanned post.  We're expecting a winter storm here in Ohio this weekend.  Possible blizzard conditions, I hear.  We'll see what actually shows up.  This is Ohio, after all. If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes and it'll change. Still, being snowed in is the perfect time to catch up on swatching so that's what I'll be doing this weekend.  Lots of posts to come - I hope.

Until then, thanks for reading and stay tuned.

Penny
