And Now For Something Completely Different

Ok, maybe not so completely different but different enough than what I've been wearing this month.

Happy Monday, by the way. Hope it was a good one for you. Personally, I'm looking forward to Friday. A day off even if I am having an eye exam and won't be able to see a thing afterward.

Wanted to share with you tonight the manicure I just did. Walgreens recently had their 99 cent sale on Sinfuls. I only picked up four, mainly because I have so many that getting a duplicate is always a possibility. I really need to carry the list with me from now on.

l to r: Nice Stems, You Just Wait, Island Coral, Daredevil

There is actually a dupe here, You Just Wait. It's a very sheer duochrome that is quite pretty over dark polish. Mine is running low so I thought it was a good time to pick up a back up.

What I have for you tonight, however, is Island Coral. I put a holographic top coat over it but didn't think to take a picture before I did that so I'll have to swatch this one for you another time.

The holographic top coat I have is Starlight from Starlight Polish. It has a strong holographic effect that can sometimes obliterate lighter colored polishes. Thankfully, Island Coral is not one of those polishes. It is neon enough that it stands up to even two coats of Starlight, which is what I have on my nails at the moment. However, Starlight did lighten the base color up a bit and toned down the neon a lot. It looks more pink at some angles.

All of these were taken under the daylight lamp on my desk and with camera flash. Oh, and there are three coats of Island Coral here.

These are just under the daylight lamp and the holo is still quite strong.

The holo in Starlight is visible under pretty much any light, even incandescent and fluorescent. It's one reason why I love this top coat. I can make any polish holographic as I choose. And who wouldn't like that?

That's it for now. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
