Happy Mother's Day!

Before I begin today's post, I want to wish all my readers a Happy Mother's Day!

I am fortunate to still have my Mom in my life and she is a very special lady. I was not the easiest child to raise but she and my Dad did the best they knew how and I'm very glad they did. My Mom is my best friend and even though she thinks my hobby is rather silly, she does enjoy seeing my nails when I'm done playing with them.

So, Happy Mother's Day to my Mom and all Moms everywhere.

Now, on to the polish part....

I've got a few more textured polishes to round out the series. I had forgotten about them, actually.

Zoya Liberty, Essie Lots of Lux, Essie On A Silver Platter

Let's do On A Silver Platter first so I can compare Libery and Lots of Lux for you later.

On A Silver Platter has a metallic gold base with large and small blue holographic glitters. As with the Zoya Spring Pixies, the larger glitters do cause some trouble working with the polish but careful application gives a satisfactory result. I did have to do some dabbing and placing on the ringer finger to fill in a spot that looked bald because the base is so light but other than that, not too many troubles putting this on. What you see here is three coats all by itself. I think this would also make a good topper for a neutral shade of cream polish.

Next up, Essie Lot of Lux.

I just could not get a good pic of this one to save my life. The sparkle of Lots of Lux just confused the daylights out of my camera. There's blue, there's pink, there's sparkle, there's texture - what more could you ask for?

As you can probably see, this one will be a stainer so make sure you use a good base coat, maybe even two coats of base coat.

And then there's Zoya Liberty.

Another possible stainer, Liberty is a blue jelly base with dark and light blue glitters. Three coats here. The color is a lot more rich than it appears even in the flash pictures. As with the Lots of Lux, the sparkle really confused my camera.

Did I say possible stainer? Let me rephrase that.

Yeah, this is the drawback to swatching without a base coat. Although, the staining isn't really that bad and since I don't go around naked or with just clear polish on, it won't bother me in the least.

And now the comparison - which is probably not necessary but I'll do it anyway.

No dupes here. Liberty is much lighter and I really wish my camera could do these two justice. They are both equally beautiful. But I would definitely use double base coat for both and be very, very careful with application.

That's it for today. Off to take these off and see what else I can come up with for the rest of the week. I'm still considering a battle of the blues and I think this was a pretty good start.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned.

Penny
