Sally Hansen Color Foils: Titanium Flash and Rose Copper

Hello again. Today I have two more of the Sally Hansen Color Foils to show you.  However, before I do that, I have an interesting experiment involving the foils and the reason why they should be used with no base coat.

I was looking for something else on another blog when I came across her review of the foils. In the comments, I saw where someone had tried to use a base coat without success. That got me to wondering if the two I have would work. Here's what I found.

First the foil I used along with the two base coats.

That's Essie's Fill The Gap and Orly Bonder. I put Essie on the thumb, middle and pinkie and Bonder on the pointer and ring. I really thought the Essie would be the success so I used more of it. Titanium Flash is the foil I used and this it how it turned out.

What a streaky mess! And the thumb even came out a lighter shade. Didn't bother with clean up because...well...why bother? Conclusive proof that when they say use without base coat, they aren't kidding around.

I should say a word about application. The polish is quite fluid but there will be a lot on the brush when it comes out of the bottle. I would recommend letting it drain a bit before pulling the brush out to make sure there's just enough on the brush to cover the nail without flooding the cuticles. Even as careful as I was, I still had cuticle flooding, which made clean up a bit more difficult.

Now, here's Titanium Flash all by herself and looking much, much prettier. This is two coats and I didn't even use top coat.

The flash pictures are a little closer to true color wise but this one is very pretty even if it does show every nail imperfection that exists.

I also have Rose Copper to show you. This one is more neutral and does seem to show up as more of a rose gold than a copper. At least to me, anyway.

This makes 7 that I have of the 10 available. I've decided to go ahead and get the other three, of which 2 are gold and 1 is silver. That will give me the entire collection and a color for each nail - a full 10 nail skittle.

That's all for today. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.

Penny
