Rimmel London Salon Pro

We're looking at polishes from Rimmel London today. All are from the Salon Pro line, two of those from the line designed by Kate Moss.

l to r: Hip Hop, Britpop, Purple Rain, Barmy Blue

Colors choices here in the states for this line has been seriously limited but lately, I'm seeing more and more color options being offered. I'm hoping that this brand becomes big enough here to have the same kind of full display that Sally Hansen or Revlon currently has.

The formula on these is perfect, which makes it easy to apply with minimal cleanup. These do have that wide, flat brush that appears to be cut in a weird way but I'm finding these types of brushes actually do a good job of getting the polish on the nails with the fewest strokes. It's all about the pressure applied. I can actually do a couple of my nails in a single stroke with these brushes.

Dry time is good, too. They dry to a glossy finish. I can't speak to wear as yet because I haven't worn any of them as a full manicure but I will - especially that red since I'm getting more into red polishes recently. Around here, these go for around $2.99, which is a real bargain for the quality of the product, I think. These are highly pigmented so 2 coats works perfectly. I think I had to do 3 with the purple, though.

Ok. On to the pictures. All are with no base or top.

Up first is Hip Hop, one of the colors designed by Kate Moss.

This one is kind of a pink leaning red, at least on me, anyway. Just a gorgeous color.

Next we have Britpop, another Kate Moss creation.

As much as I hate to say it, this one is a real stainer. My nails were blue when I took this one off. Keep in mind, though, I did not use a base. I think two coats of base would probably minimize the staining but I would still wait until it fades to go sheer or naked. But if you don't want to bother with the staining, you might want to give this one a wide berth. As for me, despite the staining, this one will definitely become a full manicure at some point. This is one of those colors I'm drawn to.

Oh, who am I kidding? I'm drawn to all colors....well, maybe not....ok, all colors. Moving on.

And then we have Purple Rain.

The bottle pic came up a bit darker than this polish actually is. The second pic is true to the real color. This one makes me think of Easter and Spring. And you now how much I love my purples.

Finally, there's Barmy Blue.

How to describe this color. Pictures are true to life, by the way. I guess I would call this one a navy blurple? I don't know but it's another one I'm very glad I have in the stash. FYI, any staining you see on the cuticles is from Britpop, not Barmy Blue.

I'll definitely be on the lookout for more from this brand.

That's all I have for you today. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
