College Football Season Has Begun!

It's finally Friday! Not only that, it's the Friday of a 3 day holiday weekend for us here in the states. It's also the beginning of college football season.

Being in Ohio, naturally, I'm an Ohio State fan. Today at the office, we are having a potluck to kick things off and I did a sort of scarlet and gray mani for the occasion.

Here's what I used....

l to r: Orly Faint of Heart, Zoya Cosmo, Orly Grave Mistake, Sweetheart Polish Josh

I say sort of scarlet and gray because Grave Mistake isn't exactly scarlet and especially not with Josh on top but I wanted to do this with bling. Which meant Cosmo got to shine as well here.

I did a mini-skittle with Faint of Heart on the thumb, index and middle fingers, two coats topped with one coat of Cosmo. When I swatched Cosmo earlier this year, I wasn't really happy with multiple coats by itself but as a glitter topper, I'm impressed. Quite the bling. Then Grave Mistake went on the ring and pinkie, two coats with one coat of Josh on top. One coat of INM Out the Door over everything and I'm good to go.

Perhaps not the perfect scarlet and gray but I like it a lot.

I am on vacation next week so, as with my vacay in June, there may be more posts or there may be less. Depends on how busy the week becomes. At the moment, my plans are to get the polish room organized - the helmers finally assembled, some writing done as well as more organizing of my upstairs domain and cleaning. Fall cleaning, if you will. Pretty ambitious. We'll see how much of it actually happens.

Oh, but I have forgotten the nail technique for August, haven't I? I truly forgot it. I believe it is what is call a fish tail manicure. I've also seen it called braided because the result does look a bit like a braid of color on the nail. Guess I'd better get thinking about colors and watch some video tutorials so I know what I'm supposed to be doing. Pass or fail, I'll do my best to get that posted Sunday, Monday at the latest.

Until then, thanks for reading and stay tuned.
