First I have a red leaning purple I'm calling Royal Purple.
To the magenta base for this one, I added a blackened blue shimmer that shifted to purple as well as a sheer multi-colored glitter top coat. There is also a cream in here that was the same basic color.
Next is Magenta Royale - seeing a theme yet?
This one only needed what was left of the sheer multi-colored glitter top coat to change its base into something that really popped.
I'm calling this one Corally Royal. I didn't realize until I was working on the pictures that I failed to take a bottle shot with polish on the nails. So you get to see my freshly filed nakies in this bottle shot.
Now, what the camera failed to capture are the gold glitters I put in the polish. Actually, they're from a glittery orange that went into this. There is also an orange cream here and I may add more orange to step even further away from the magenta base. This one is a bit sheer but I love how it just glows when worn.
I know the pics make this one look like just another magenta but when compared to Magenta Royale, the difference a bit clearer, although I do see where the polish would benefit from additional orange. Pic is without flash.
I'm really enjoying creating these new colors. I've got a lot more I want to attempt and I'm also looking into purchasing supplies to make polish from scratch. Will there be a Ten Penny Nails polish line in the future? Not sure of that yet. I can only imagine the amount of work involved in making your own polish line and I do admire the ladies who have done just that. Between my full time job, part time writing and part time blogging, not sure I have the time for it yet. But if I'm blessed to become a full time writer, the possibly is definitely there.
That's all for the moment. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
