I'm Excited!

Happy Tuesday!

I've got an exciting post for you this evening. Well, it is for me. Because this will be the first post with pictures from my new camera! I've had the thing in my Amazon cart for ages and it finally dropped enough in price that I felt I just couldn't pass on it any longer. It even came with a cute little tripod to minimize movement. Not sure it actually does that - I have to press the shutter button so hard that the tripod moves a bit. I have some little non-slip gripper pads that might help with that, though.

Now, keep in mind, this is the first time I've used the new camera and I don't even have my light box made or my lighting properly set up so....I need to stop making excuses and just you the dang pictures, right?

I chose Luggage For Your Journey from Literary Lacquers for the first photo session and I have to say, I'm not sure which I love more. The polish or the camera.

Oh, this it three coats of polish with base and top, pics taken with no flash, amazingly enough.

The formula on this is perfect, as usual. Dry time was reasonable but I did use a fast dry top coat. In addition to the holo, there's holographic glitter in here and you can actually see that in the pictures! I'm beside myself with joy right now.

Still have a problem with blurry pinkie and pointer but look at that holo! The color is almost true to life - it is just a bit darker in real life but look at that flippin' holo! No way would I have gotten as good of a picture with my phone. In fact, here is what I did get.

phone camera without flash

The flash washed out the holo so to show the holo I had to leave the flash off. That picture came out dark and my fingers look sunburned.

I did another round of photos with the new camera and managed to get it to take some flash photos. Just posting these here so I can see which look better on the blog. Of course, the flash part happened accidentally a couple of times with each version and I'm not all that sure what I did to make it happen.

I don't know. I think I like the photos without flash best. These were also taken without the tripod, which is doable but the tripod does make it a bit easier. My right hand tends to shake so bad with the phone camera, it'll be nice not to have worry about that now.

I just need to learn more about photography so I can play with my new toy and get the best possible pictures I can.

Look forward to even better pics in the future. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
