As promised I have my swatch of Sally Hansen's Red Carpet for you tonight.
I called it a red jelly base with red glitters in my last post but now that I look at it more closely, might be a red crelly base. Definitely not a full cream - too sheer. While the base is a bit on the sheer side, it is buildable. I did the same three coats here that I did for the holo-fied version.
Very hard to capture that 'lit within' look, even with the new camera. Trust me, this one is a beauty. Dries slightly textured, as you can probably see, but a couple of coats of top coat smooths that out just fine. Pics are without base and top.
I should give fair warning, though. Red Carpet is a stainer. This is what I found when I took off the holof-fied version of this manicure before doing the swatch.
That's all stain, folks. I had only used one coat of base with that manicure but I'm thinking that even two wouldn't have prevented this. At least it's not green. Or blue.
I do think this is an excellent Christmas polish so you might see it again before the month is up. I'm thinking of a Christmas tree created with tape and using this red as the base. We'll see how that works out for me.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
