Week 3 Naked Nail Update

Happy Saturday!

It's snowing again and according to reports snow will continue for most of the rest of the day. So far, it's been a little anticlimactic compared to last Saturday but considering it's going to last the rest of the day, I'm not complaining - much. This isn't exactly the major snow event I've been looking forward to but Winter ain't over yet.

I purposely waited the full 7 days before posting this update. I wanted a full week's growth just to show off the way in which proper care can actually accelerate nail growth. Now, keep in mind. Everybody's body is different so my results may not be typical.

It also helped that I had no accidents this week. No need to do any filing down.

So here you go. This week's nakies. Up close and very personal.

Well, lookie there. Actual growth showing up. These are freshly washed with about 5 drops of pure jojoba oil applied and allowed to sink in before pictures were taken. In addition to the Simply Pure nail oil (yes, I mentioned it again), I recently discovered a nice, light pure jojoba oil.

Last Winter, I added pure jojoba oil to my normal face lotion and found that it gave me a welcome boost of moisture. Decided it was time to do the same for this Winter. Jojoba oil can also be added to shampoo and/or conditioner to help give your hair an added moisture boost.

I got it from Amazon. It's by Beauty Aura, you can find it here if you want to check it out. It is much lighter than what I've previously used. I put 5 drops into the palm of my hand and smooth it on like hand lotion. Then I apply my lotion on top. This is also how I've been using it on my face.

While it doesn't have any added scent, it isn't entirely smell free. The smell reminds me a bit of bacon. Seriously. It's not strong, though. I don't go walking around smelling like a breakfast meat all day. It does fade quickly and the scent of my usual lotions and potions makes the bacon aroma completely disappear, but initially, there is a definite smoky scent to it. On me, at least. It might be like perfumes. The same perfume can smell differently on different people.

I'm chomping at the bit to put some polish on these babies, but I will refrain for one more week. Seven whole days left. Let's all hope I have no accidents this next week.

Which reminds me. I read an excellent post this week done by Christine of Simply Nailogical. She writes about how to grow long nails from her own personal experience with a major break. I highly recommend reading it. She is also a Simply Pure nail oil girl so fair warning.

That's all I got for now. One more week and I can go back to swatching and polishing. Can't wait.

Until then, thanks for reading and stay tuned.

Penny
