I have tried the ClariSEA Sea Salt Solutions Rapid Detox Charcoal Exfoliant and I have to say I love it. As you recall, I received a nice sized sample in my July Birchbox.
I know it looks very gritty but that wasn't my experience, although that is what I expected so I decided to use this in the shower. I prefer using scrubs in the shower so that I can get all that grit rinsed down the drain much easier. Wasn't actually necessary with this.
I put probably 1/4 teaspoon in 6 pumps of Noxema and mixed it together. The grains kind of melted into the cleanser so that I got all the benefits of using the salt and charcoal without all the grittiness. I suppose if I used more, it would feel grittier but with my sensitive skin, I do have to watch how often I use something like that.
Now, I know I've said and most experts say that you can't change the size of your pores. You can, however, make them appear less noticeable. This stuff seemed to do that for me. Or maybe it was the mixture but when I got a look at my skin afterward, it looked flawless and I do believe the redness was diminished quite a bit.
The ingredient list goes like this: sea salt, mineral salt, sweet almond powder, activated bamboo charcoal powder. Needless to say, if you have a nut allergy, this one's definitely not for you. But for the rest of us, I would definitely recommend this product. I know I've only used it once, but that is enough to convince me. I plan to use this for my evening cleanse routine two or three times a week so if anything changes, I will let you know.
ClariSEA also has a detoxifying mask using sea salt and charcoal that I am going to try. They have a kit that includes a bar of soap made with the salt and charcoal but since even bars that claim to leave your skin moisturized actually dry me out, I don't think it's something I need.
There are lots of products for face, body, feet and hair so give them a look.
That's it for today. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
