Reviewed: Etre Belle Aloe Vera Moisturizing Gel and Yes To Blueberries Age Refresh Eye Firming Treatment

Happy Saturday! Got a couple of reviews for you today.

Starting with the aloe vera gel from Etre Belle.

After receiving this in my July Glossybox, I started to use it on an injury in my tummy area that is having a hard time healing. I am diabetic and sometimes deeper wounds just don't heal well at all. No idea how I got this one. After two abdominal surgeries, my tummy is numb pretty much all over. One day I noticed a lot of blood on my shirt, looked and saw a deep-ish gash.

Part of the healing trouble is that I am a picker. Yes. I admit it. I just can't keep my fingers from picking at scabs. I had been using my nail oil on the spot with minor success (thanks to the picking). I decided to try the aloe vera the same day I got it and by the next day, the area looked a lot better.

The dry parts that I would normally pick at weren't nearly as pickable any longer. Well, kind of. I did find a way to pick and ended up creating another deep-ish injury.  As I write this, the area is about 75% healed. I've been utilizing more willpower and haven't touched it for a few days. Hopefully by leaving it alone, it will heal more quickly.

Since this worked so well on the injury, I decided to try it on my face. I used it beneath my normal moisturizer concoction and was amazed at the results. My skin never felt so hydrated. I didn't have to spritz at all during the day.

Only one tiny little problem - it's staining my skin green. The green comes from artificial coloring. Real aloe vera gel is perfectly clear. Why companies feel the need to color it green is beyond me. The staining is why I will not continue to use this on my face despite how good it feels and performs.

The other product I want to report on is the Yes To Blueberries Age Refresh Eye Firming Treatment.

I am very impressed with this product. I have been using this one for almost three weeks now. The area around my eyes does seem to be a bit brighter and firmer than it was. I can't say that there is a dramatic difference in the fine lines but there is some improvement there as well.

I like what this product has done enough that I ordered three more of the moisturizing/treatment products from the line. Walgreens had a 20% off offer for their online store. Still waiting for them to arrive but will report back once I've used them for a bit.

The products I'm currently using on my face include mineral oil, which I think is causing more rosacea breakouts - those tiny red bumps that aren't really acne but just as annoying. I'm hoping a move away from anything that includes mineral oil will help.

I have just today tried a combination of castor oil and coconut oil on my face underneath my moisturizer. After blotting away an oil slick, I do feel a bit more moisturized but the redness does seem to be more apparent. Nice try, though.

I have been putting this combination on my lashes and eyebrows at night and I do believe both have shown improvement. My lashes do seem longer and fuller and my brows are filling out a bit more. This oil combo doesn't seem to irritate my eyes the way the Lash Accelerator from Rimmel did.

I've tried a few more of the products out of the boxes and will have more reports in future posts. Two of them worked so well I have already ordered full sizes.

I've got two more beauty boxes that should be coming, although I've yet to receive shipping notifications from the companies. And I still have the last two I received to share with you so lots more to come.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned!

Penny
