Reviewed: The July Glossybox - The Correct One

Happy Thursday! I thought I had scheduled this one but no.

And yes, this is the actual Glossybox for July. Apparently, the previous box was for June. I didn’t realize it because I got it in July.

Anyway, I now have the correct month’s box for you today.

As a reminder, Glossybox is a monthly beauty box. For $21 per month, they will send you 4-5 high-end products every month. Some will be full size, some will be deluxe sample sizes. You can also sign up for the entire year for $222, which works out to $18.50 per month. A six month subscription can be purchased for $126. No savings for that option.

On to the box.

The same beautiful pink box with the same pink tissue paper and black ribbon. Also includes the card that tells about the products. This box included three full sized and two half sized products.

Starting with a lip liner from Face Stockholm.

The soft, smooth formula of this pencil is enriched with vitamin C, fruit-derived wax and vitamin E.

The color is Yvonne, a lovely brownish color that by itself is a bit dark on me.

But after applying my favorite gloss, FYI from Jordana.

Looked pretty awesome.

I’m usually rubbish with pencil liners but this one did go on creamy and I was able to get a really precise line with it. This was a full-sized product and the cost is $17.

Also for the lips, I received a lip balm from Naked Lips in the flavor peppermint.

The balm is made from a nutritive blend of antioxidant-rich oils from fruits and berries. I did try this and it does tingle a bit but doesn’t do any plumping - at least it didn’t on me. It does feel creamy and nice. This was the full size product and would cost $5.50.

For cheeks, the Cargo Cosmetics Water Resistant Blush in Coronado was also in my box.

This blush is supposed to be sweat-proof and weatherproof. It is a sheer powder blush that is buildable for a customized look. The pigments are silicone-coated to provide better adhesion to the skin. One of the ingredients is I-lysine, which is an amino acid that is naturally found in skin.

I really had to build this up and it’s still kind of hard to see on my hand. I do like how sheer it is. I’ll post again after I’ve used it. I would consider this a half sized product. The full size goes for $26, making the value of what I received around $13.

I also received a skin care product - from the brand Hey Honey, the I Peel Good! biometric creamy honey peel cream.

Ingredients: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Polyglyceryl-5 Oleate, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate , Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba)Seed Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius Oil, Honey, Phoenix Dactylifera (Date) Fruit Extract, Ananas Sativus (pineapple) Fruit Juice, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterol, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propolis Extract, Squalane, Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline, Isopropyl Myristate, Squalene, Tocopherol, Linoleic Acid, Beta-Carotene, Retinyl Palmitate, Beta-Sitosterol, Phenethyl Alcohol, Caramel, Parfum (Fragrance), Dunaliella Salina Extract.

This is a kind of creamy gel-like product that you massage onto the skin. It gets rinsed off instead of peeling off but the idea is that the massaging action improves skin texture after the first use. It’s supposed to hydrate, exfoliate and protect all in a single step.

It’s also supposed to reduce stretch marks and leave behind a natural lipid barrier to protect the skin. It has a very light scent. I will try this and report back.

I received what appears to be a half sized version. The full size goes for $59, so the value of what I received would be $29.50.

The final product is from a brand called Kueshi, out of Valencia, Spain. It is the Anticellulite Booster.

Ingredients: Aqua, Isononyl, Isonanoate, Octyl Palmitate, Aloe Barbadenisis Leaf Juice, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil), Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Glycerin, Stearyl Alcohol, Propanediol, Ruscus Aculeatus Root (Butcher’s Broom) Extract, Citrus Limon Peel Extract, Solidago Virguarea (Goldenrod) Extract, Astralgalus Membranaceus Root (Huang Qi) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexyglycerin, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Carbomer, Parfum, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Hydroxide, Perfum, Linalool, Geraniol, Limonene.

This is a creamy white lotion that claims to combat existing cellulite while preventing more cellulite from forming. It also claims to reduce fat tissue. It doesn’t have a very strong scent. Just smells like lotion to me.

This is a product I will probably not use much. I just don’t buy into all of the claims made by products like these. If anything, I’ll use it as a body moisturizer - when I think of it. This was a full sized product and costs $22.60.

The total value of this box is $87.60. I will definitely use four of the five products. The anticellulite cream might get used if I think of it.

Overall, I am pleased with this second box. I did sign up for the yearly option so there will be more of these in the future. I actually got to choose my box for August. It's all products chosen by Nicole Richie. I'm excited to get it. I think she made some excellent choices even if I'm not familiar with the majority of the products I'll be getting.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned.

Penny
