Reviewed: Beautybox 5 For August

Today I have the Beautybox 5 for August. The monthly cost for this box is $12. For that $12, they will send out 5 deluxe samples and full-sized products. They also offer a quarterly subscription for $30, which saves $6. The yearly subscription runs $99 and saves $45.

The August box was entitled Mystery Beauty Box and it included items for hand, body, and face as well as a handy tool for getting the full use out of your beauty products.

I’ll do the one I found most interesting first - The Dancin’ Goat Hula Bliss Hand & Body Lotion.

yep, still rockin' the polish from Ever After

This lotion is made from goat’s milk and coconut oil “to deliver intense moisture and give your skin a healthy glow” (quoting directly from the website). It is also paraben and sulfate-free and contains no synthetic preservatives. The fragrance is also nice - lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus.

I received a 2 oz, deluxe sample. The full size is 8 oz and retails for $17.99, making my sample worth $4.50

I also received a duplicate Marsk mineral eyeshadow in Vanilla Frosting.

You can see more about this product here. This is the full size and retails for $24.00.

Next is what looks like it will be a very handy tool from the makers of The Spatty.

This one will be useful for getting the last of any product as well as the one foundation I have that does not have a pump. There are two sizes available - 6 inches and 12 inches. I received the 6 inch version, which retails for $5.49.

Next is a lip balm from Lasting Smiles

This creamy lip balm is in the flavor Passionfruit Mango. It’s made from good things like coconut oil, beeswax, sunflower oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E and is cruelty free. The balm comes in four other flavors - Simply Moisture, which contains no flavorings at all, Pure Pomegranate, Peppermint Creme, and Peach Blossom.

This brand also has a cause behind it.

You can read more on their website as well find out where to purchase. I took the Amazon route and found four of the five flavors there for $5.99 on Prime. Peach Blossom was only available from another seller for more money and even higher shipping.

The final product in the box, a French mani kit from Sally Hansen Salon Effects. This one is called Gold Cabaret.

I don’t have much experience with the nail polish strips but I might try this one. I found it sold online at various places with prices ranging from $4.09 to $11.99 and up. Some of the higher prices were for more than the 16 count in the box I received. For the purposes of calculating the worth of this box, I’ll go with the $4.09 I found on Amazon.

All told, the value of this box ends up being $44.07. Not bad and I’ll use pretty much everything I received.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
