Reviewed: Beautybox 5 - Two Boxes & An Explanation

Happy Friday!

Ok. So, the Beautybox 5 I reviewed for August, actually wasn't. That one was a Mystery Box that I had purchased and forgot about. I still have both the July and August boxes to share.

First the July box.

Inside the box are two lip products from OFRA. A lip gloss...

The color is called Sunshine and as you can see from the picture, it's a sheer orange with lots of golden sparkle. It just looked like a clear shiny gloss on both the back of my hand and on my lips. A good look by itself but I think this one would work really well on top of pretty much any color lipstick.

There was also a liner in the color nude.

I love these nude colors I'm getting lately. I've never been one for bright, bold lips so this one is right up my alley.

Then I put the gloss over it...

I really like this look - nude with a bit of shine. Not sure the sparkle will show up, though.

I've been quite impressed with the products I've received from OFRA. These two products are no exception. Both were full sized products. The gloss sells for $12.95 and the liner sells for $13.00.

I also received a polish from Nanacoco in the color Fuschia Bulb.

The formula on this polish was very easy to work with. It dried to a satin finish, much to my surprise. However, this was a very hard color to photograph. It's a very bright, hurt your eyes, hot pink neon. I did get this one swatched for you when I took these pics last month. I'm really disappointed that I couldn't capture the neon goodness of this polish.

You'll have to take my word for it. This one really pops on the nails.

Nanacoco also offers products for lips and eyes. I did not find where these could be purchased on their website but the products can be found on Amazon. I received the full-sized product. The card in the box said the polish sold for $3.00 but I think the price might depend on where the product is sold. On Amazon, many of the polishes were priced just a bit higher but still affordable.

There were two sample products in the box - both skin care.

The first was 4 sachets of the Intensive Recovery Serum from Love Life Skin.

Probably about 4 day's worth here. The full size is one ounce (30 ml) and sells for $30. The sachets were .03 ounces each or 1 ml, which makes each worth about $1, so $4 for all four.

And finally, from Pur-lisse, a sample size of their Pur-protect Essential Daily Moisturizer, a broad spectrum sunscreen with 30 SPF.

Believe it or not, this little sample is worth about $16.50. The full-size product is 1.7 ounces (50ml) and sells for $55. Needless to say, I'll enjoy the sample for as long as it lasts.

Total estimated value of the July Beautybox 5 is $49.45. The monthly cost is  $12 and you can sign up to get your own box here.

So, instead of lengthening this post with the August box, how about a bonus post for tomorrow?

Until then, thanks for reading and stay tuned.
