Happy FOTD Friday.
Today I have for you the look I wore on Wednesday for my writer's group meeting.
I used all of these products plus one more I forgot to get in the picture.
The basics first.
I mixed the two BB Creams from ELF together - that's Nude and Fair. I used the Brightening concealer under my eyes and set that with Wet n Wild Coloricon bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana. I also used the bronzer to set the Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer then used the Sunscreen powder to set everything else. I used the Jordana Fabubrow in Taupe on my brows.
The one item I used that did not get into the group picture is the ELF Contour Palette.
I used the bronze in the lower left corner as both bronzer and contour. I then used ELF Blush in Flushed for blush.
This blush is very pigmented and I did end up using way to much but Reserve Your Cabana worked pretty well to blend out both the blush and the contour/bronzer.
For eyes, I used one color out of each palette on top of a base of Reserve Your Cabana.
The top palette is from Pur Minerals, the Secret Crush Palette. The bottom one is Coastal Scents Reserved. One my lids, I used that bronzey gold shadow fifth from the left in the Secret Crush Palette then in my crease, I used the brown third from the left in the Coastal Scents Revealed Palette. I blended everything out using Reserve Your Cabana as well as used it as a brow highlight. I then used that same brown as liner - on the outer third of the upper lid as well as for three quarters of the lower lid. I went back into the bronze/gold shadow and used that to highlight the inner corner of my eyes.
On my lashes, I used both the lash primer from Manna and a black mascara from Doucce.
This combination proved to be too much and I ended up with Tarantula lashes. It got a little bit better using a lash comb but I was still left with minor clumps. I guess some mascaras don't need any help this one from Doucce is one of them.
And the final eye look.
I did like this look. Just not the way the lashes were. I think if I had used a different mascara or not used the lash primer, they would have looked better. By the end of the day, however, my lashes were sticking out straight with no curl whatsoever. Not real happy with that look.
On my lips, I used a balm stick from Styli-Style in the color Flirty Fuchsia.
The final overall look.
I used a curl holding mousse from Fructis in my hair to create more volume and curl. I'm still using the shampoo, conditioner, and blow dry spray from Briogeo.
The shampoo is gentle enough for color treated hair like mine. Both the conditioner and blow dry spray contain ingredients that are supposed to stimulate hair growth and I do believe it's working. I have tiny little hairs growing into the barer spots at my hairline. If I want a softer wavy look, I'll leave out the mousse and still have lots of volume to work with. I even think my hairline is changing. I do have a widow's peak but it seems to me that the arched part on at least one side is filling in. Wonder if I'll end up with a new hairline if I keep using these?
So there's your face of the day for this Friday. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
