Since I just can't leave well enough alone (we all know this about me), I decided to see what my current manicure looked like with holographic top coat. The only trouble with that idea was the fact that I had no clue where either of my holographic top coats currently resided.
I have two drawers in each Helmer full of polish then the six purple boxes full of polish and there are still cardboard boxes full of polish laying around. Nothing is organized in any kind of order, which meant I had to go on a scavenger hunt to find what I wanted. After several unsuccessful minutes, I finally caught sight of one of my holographic topcoats - sitting on top of the Helmer nearest my desk. Figures, right?
Actually, both of the holographic top coats were there. Since one was seriously dried up, I decided to go with the other one, which is honestly my favorite of the two.
This is the holographic top coat from Smokey Mountain Lacquers.
It only took one coat to get this much holographic sparkle. This one is my favorite because I get that linear holo that lets the color of the polish come through. It works best over the actual polish but even over top coat, it's pretty much stunning.
Of course, all that holographic goodness wreaks havoc with my camera's focus.
I think the holo even deepens the blue and gives it an awesome metallic sheen that best viewed in real life. And I still have that purple shift, which is amazing.
That's it for today. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
