Haul: More Eyeshadows???

No, this is not the post I had intended to do for today. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Sinful Mattes swatch post has been rescheduled for Wednesday. That is, provided I can get the actual swatching done tomorrow. I'm just happy I had two posts already done and scheduled for this week. You'd be hearing crickets right about now if I hadn't.

Apparently, life really is what happens while the rest of us are making plans and this time, life got the last laugh. But I digress. On with today's post.

My name is Penny and I'm an eyeshadow addict.

Yes. I purchased more eyeshadows. This is what happens when you're searching for the perfect shade of olive and discover there's more to life than green eyeshadow. But let's be honest. I have a problem. Thank goodness it's tax refund time.

I placed my second order with Coastal Scents for more of their Hot Pot shadows. This much quality for less than two bucks? Kinda hard to pass up. I will possibly own every color they make by the end of the year. No joke.

The only problem is that many of the shades I really want are always sold out. Most of them are matte, ironically enough. For this order, I only managed to get two matte shades. All the rest are in some form of shimmer, glitter and otherwise. However, I fixed that problem with something else that you'll see later in this post.

For now, let's take a look at what I got from Coastal Scents.

I love how they package the hot pots in these mesh bags. And as with my first order, they also included a little something extra.

This is nothing but unrefined shea butter, which can be used on my nails or my face or anywhere else that needs a little moisture boost. There's plenty of room in this container, I could probably use this for the hand cream I make.

Ok. On to the shadows.

Quite the little bundle here. There's twenty shadows - basically I created my own Revealed palette.

And just in case you've noticed - that mark in the one next to the lightest one on the right was from my fingernail. I had started to put these in a Z-palette and then realized I needed to photograph them first.

All twenty are laid out here with names showing in the order they went into the Z-pallette.

That one on the bottom right didn't have a white sticker on the back for some reason but the name on it is Purple.

And in the Z-Palette.

A nice variety of colors here. Mosty shimmers, as I said previously. The third one from the left in that middle row is the one I had tried to get in my first order but ended up with Calypso instead. That's Miami Spice - a dark brown matte with turquoise glitter. I'm hoping that glitter shows on the lid.

Many of these look similar to each other but they really are not. I love the way Coastal Scents can take the same color and make it look different like this. Oh, and the blue one second from the left in the bottom row is ah-maze-ing! That's Rainstorm. Can't wait to do a blue lid with that one. The picture on Coastal Scents' website really didn't do that one justice.

Which, in fact, is the interesting thing about ordering shadow from the internet. Pictures simply can't capture the true beauty of the color. Many of these look entirely different from the picture I saw - in a good way.

Since all but two of these ended up being shimmers of some sort, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and go for a palette I have had my eye on for some time now.

Yes. I broke down and got me a Morphe.

I've heard both good and bad things about these palettes - mostly good. However, some people say the shadows in the palettes aren't nearly as good as the ones bought as singles. I can't speak to that but I can speak to the beauty that is the 35N palette. I got the fully matte version and I'm so glad I did.

Lots of good transition shades in here, which is what I was looking for. I can also see an entire eye look using all mattes. I know everyone is going nuts over the 35O but this one appealed to me much more. There are two others that I would love to have and probably will at some point in the future. Maybe for my birthday.

I got this one from Amazon since I have Prime and could get free shipping. I would have had to spend $100 with Morphe before I'd get free shipping there. Saved me $10 so....yeah.

I do have one more palette to come - from NYX. I received a hefty discount code for one of their create your own palettes and could not pass it up. It had yet to arrive at the time of this writing so that'll be another post to go up later.

For now, however, I'm gonna go play. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
