Review: Sinful Colors Limited Edition Porcelain Matte Polishes

Happy Tuesday!

Surprise! I got to feeling better yesterday so I could do these swatches. Not sure how many colors are in this limited edition line. I found 5 at my local Walgreens. I've seen pictures of the entire display but didn't find that where I went. It seems, per their usual, Sinful did a massive release of several different polish varieties.

Just a note before we go to the photos - the formula on four of these was kind of thick and hard to work with and a nightmare to clean up. I apologize in advance for the messiness you're about to see.

Also, the same four that were hard to work with, dried down completely matte. The fifth one was more of a satin finish than a matte. And speaking of dry time, I think the reason the four were so hard to clean up after was because while they dried matte pretty quickly, they didn't dry fully enough for the brush to not make the polish push up into ridges.

I used two coats for all five except where noted.

This is Mad Matter, a white cream with just the barest hint of pink.

As you can see, this one was very patchy. I did do three coats on the thumb, which was the worst.

This one is Glazy Sunday, a violet cream.

Coverage was better on this one, however, as with Mad Matter, the formula is on the thick side and very difficult to work with. Definitely need that three stroke application.

The third one is called Cheshire China, a lovely periwinkle.

This one came out better but I did have the cleanup issue.

The last of the four bad ones is called She's Gone Matte, a mint green.

Better coverage here, too, but again, the cleanup was not good.

Now for the best one of the bunch. This is We're All Matte Here.

This one is a lovely coral crelly that needed 3 coats for complete opacity. It had the best dry time and dried down to more of a satin than a matte. The formula here was the absolute best. No patchiness - it seemed to self-level unlike the previous four. If the formula had been this way across the board, this part of the release would be the bomb.

I'll be working with the other four polishes I bought at the same time as these somewhere toward the end of the week. I'm actually planning to wear Prosecco tomorrow to a birthday lunch for one of my writer friends.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned.

Penny
