Reviewed: April Ipsy Glambag

Happy Monday Evening!

Finally able to do some blogging. This evening, I'll be sharing what came in my April Ipsy Glambag.

The bag itself is in a tie-dyed motif and made of a material that reminds me of needlepoint.

The theme for the month is Dream On!

I was very excited with this month's Glambag. Two of the items are ones I have been wanting to try.

Starting with the sheet masks from Pur-Lisse.

I've had the chance to try several products from Pur-Lisse and I have yet to find something I didn't like. Even though I'm sold on Paula's Choice skincare, I still incorporate Pur-Lisse products when possible. I look forward to giving these a try.

The masks sell for $8 each for a total of $16 for the pair.

The other item is a liquid lipstick from Buxom.

Buxom is one of the higher end brands that I would like to try but haven't yet. Though this is billed as a liquid lipstick, it does not dry down to a completely matte finish and will transfer.

The color is definitely my color and is called Centerfold. It has a noticeable vanilla scent but doesn't last. The formula looks thick coming out of the tube but is more lightweight than it looks and very comfortable on the lips.

Since a full size is .16 ounces, what I received would be considered a deluxe sample at .06 ounces. The full size sells for $21, making my sample worth around $7.88.

The other three products are new brands to me.

Once of those brands is Nudestix. I received a lip and cheek pencil in the color Mystic.

The product has more of a lip balm consistency and is more glossy. It matches the liquid lipstick perfectly.

Calculating the value of what I assumed to be a sample wasn't easy. I found the full size for sale on Sephora for $24. The full size comes with a sharpener and storage tin. The product itself weighs in at .05 ounces. The item I received weighs in at .088 ounces. After doing the math, I end up with an estimated worth of $38.40, no matter how I did the division and multiplication. I'm going with it for the total value of the bag.

The next product is the Highlight Trio from City Color.

This set is a nice collection of pressed highlighting powders. My swatches are not blended in any way but they do blend out nicely. The product is well pigmented, soft and buttery, but doesn't kick up any powder. The formula in these is such that you can go subtle or intense, whatever you want.

This is also what I would consider a deluxe sample since the full size is around 11.7 grams and what I received is 7.05 grams. The full size sells for $8.99, this sample is worth around $5.42.

And finally, nail polish. From a brand called Probelle, the color is In Or Out.

Though it isn't a pastel, I do think this is a nice Spring color. I put on three coats with no base or top. It dries to a glossy shine but does take some time to dry. The formula is on the thin side and even after three coats, I could still see some bare spots. Not sure if Orly Bonder would help that or not.

This is a full size and sells for $6.

All told, the total estimated value of the bag is $73.70. The Ipsy Glambag costs $10 per month and so far, I've been pretty satisfied with what I've received in the past months. Ipsy is on my list of keepers. If you would like to give Ipsy a try, you can go here and sign up.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
